We have Open Positions!
Positions are held for two years, and you’ll work with some amazing people to help host successful events that make a real impact to the local community!
TREASURER
Responsibilities include:
- Attend all board meetings.
- Serve on the Operations committee.
- Review income and expenses to maintain clean accounting records, and tracking of funds.
- Create and present the annual budget to the board for approval.
- Manage the board’s review of and action related to the board’s financial responsibilities.
- Work with the President and Secretary to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the board on a timely basis.
- Create Sponsorship tiers and work with sponsorship coordinator on collection of funds.
- Serve on the Operations Committee (Focused on Code for Good as an Organization)
Nonprofit Project Coordinator
- Manage the Nonprofit application process, including:
- Guidelines for acceptance
- Application form
- Acceptance or rejection confirmation
- Project Scope Proposals
- Nonprofit Communication
- Handle Nonprofit inquiries and create supportive communications.
- Create examples of successful projects to promote to nonprofits and determine if their projects are similar
- In conjunction with the Project Committee, review and analyze nonprofit projects and recommend technology solutions.
- Coordinate with the Project Committee on the selection process.
- Collaborate with the Outreach and Content Coordinators on the marketing of the event to local nonprofits.
- Assist the Volunteer Coordinator, DEI Coordinator, and VP with volunteer and team lead selection.
- Ensure good communication between selected Nonprofit, Team Lead, and Volunteer Team.
- Plan Nonprofit Orientation and act as primary contact for the nonprofit representatives.
- Serve on Project Committee (Focused on Project Success for Nonprofits and Volunteers).
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Coordinator
Responsibilities include:
- Initiate actions to foster an open and inclusive environment.
- Serve as the “go-to” person for Code of Conduct issues that must be addressed.
- Develop a broadly inclusive, diverse, equitable, and welcoming membership, culture, and climate.
- Work with the president and board to create and implement a diversity, equity, and inclusion plan.
- Encourage collaboration and serve as a liaison with other community groups and coalitions.
- Work with the Outreach & Social Media Coordinator and the Nonprofit Project Coordinator to ensure that we are making our services known to a wide range of nonprofits in the area.
- Serve as a spokesperson on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Monitor the growth of membership and recruitment.
- Serve on Project Committee (Focused on Project Success for Nonprofits and Volunteers).
- Assist the President and VP with the Community Engagement meetings to measure our impact on the community.
Committee Members
Project Committee Member
The Project Committee is focused on our project success for panels, workshops, and weekends. Members will:
- Attend 1 committee meeting per month
- Collaborate with board members on the Project Committee to plan, promote, and implement our programming.
- Volunteer as event staff for Weekend for Good and other events throughout the year.
- Recruit volunteers and nonprofits.
- Plan successful, inclusive, accessible events.
Operations Committee Member
The Operations Committee is focused on Code for Good West Michigan as an organization. Members will:
- Attend 1 committee meeting per month
- Collaborate with board members on the Operations Committee to sustain and grow Code for Good West Michigan as a nonprofit.
- Volunteer as event staff for Weekend for Good and other events throughout the year.
- Recruit sponsors and donors.
- Tell our story through social media and marketing.
